Customer Review: Flimsier than I’d like
I know that “you get what you pay for” but I’d hoped it would be a little sturdier. Some of the metal rods seem to be angled into each other, and there are a couple of spots where the ball is out of reach for all the players. Still, it is fun and a good price, and works if you don’t have the space for a larger unit.

I luckily found these outstanding shin guards on Amazon.Com at an unbelievable bargain. I operate a 28-ton vertical log splitter a few days each Fall as a hobby so I can enjoy a warming fire all Winter. Knotted hickory under pressure can often explode in half with sufficient force to break a leg. Steel-toe boots do not protect the ankles and the top of the foot. These shin guards do - and the entire knee as well. They work great! They paid for themselves in one hour. They are fantastic for my purpose. They are also light and flexible enough to wear while using a chain saw and stacking wood. For years I used all sorts of modified shin guards including snake-bite guards and padded rubber but nothing worked. These Mizuno shin guards are perfect. I apologize to Mizuno, Johnny Bench (I bought red) and all of baseball, but perhaps these guards should also be advertised under outdoor power equipment.

I’ve been searching for safetgard sliders for two years to replace my daughters’ old ones. I have bought and returned (or eaten the cost) many inferior makes during that time. I finally thought to contact the company and they told me about Amazon for sports gear. Just in time–I was about to go to foam dog bedding and duct tape to repair the old ones. These are the best and the only ones the girls like. The velcro makes a huge difference in fit and stability. I don’t know what the other reviewer was was saying about size. My 5′10″ slender but not skinny 16-year-old wears the small. My 5′5″ 140 lb. 14-year-old powerhouse wore a large, but I’ve purchased her medium in the both the long and short version. If they don’t fit, I’ll revise this.
